About Us
Our Beautiful Carters Lake Inc (OBCL) is a non-profit organization that has a Cooperating Association Agreement with the United Sates Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
OBCL was formed to promote and organize volunteer programs and to help raise money in an effort to maintain and improve services to parks, campgrounds, and properties that are managed by the USACE in and around Carters Lake. OBCL partners with the USACE to identify, fund and accomplish these areas of need.
Because our focus is maintaining healthy and safe lake and public use areas, our annual Nation Public Lands Day event is held the last day of September each year. Volunteers and sponsors join together to pick trash and clean shoreline, trails, campgrounds and day uses on the entire Carters Lake project. this event starts at 9:00 am and is followed by a free lunch and tee shirt provided by this organization as a way to say thank you for caring.
