Leslie Thomas: Researching Native American Genealogy
Whether you are hitting roadblocks with your Native American genealogy research or curious about how to begin, this is the meeting for you. Have you been surprised about DNA results that show NO Native American connection, even though you KNOW there were at least two great-great grandmas who were Cherokee? Join Leslie Thomas at our regular March meeting for insightful guidance to steer your research in the right direction as well as help you better understand those puzzling DNA test results. Ms. Thomas is currently the Trail of Tears Association‘s Historic Preservation Officer for North Georgia, and the Past President of the Georgia Chapter of the Trail of Tears Association. She is also the current President of the Gilmer County Historical Society. This informative meeting will be held at the Gilmer County Library on Thursday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m., with refreshments served at 1:30 p.m.
